About Mimi
Hi, I’m Mimi, a lettering artist born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and now creating from Newton, Massachusetts, USA.
Lettering has always been at the heart of my creative voice. Alongside an ongoing career in administration and finance, I have built a practice centered on custom lettering, calligraphy, and illustration — using letterforms to tell stories, shape spaces, and give words a visual presence.
I collaborate with local businesses seeking to bring their magic into the world through captivating, classic blackboard art that attracts new clients. I also partner with editorial and paper goods brands looking for distinctive lettering illustrations for products, book covers, magazines, and printed collections. In addition, I teach the art of lettering and calligraphy to professionals seeking a creative outlet and a meaningful way to reconnect with their artistic side.
Across all my work, I am guided by thoughtful craftsmanship, expressive typography, and deep respect for the story behind each project. My practice is supported by focused professional training, including the Lettering Seminar with Martina Flor and commercial blackboard art formation with ByMadans.
Proceeds from my work help build long-term security for my daughters with special needs, supporting their path toward greater independence and a brighter future.
